Known officially as the Republic of Poland, the Central European country of Poland is bordered by Germany to the west; Ukraine and Belarus to the east; the Czech Republic and Slovakia to the south; and the Baltic Sea to the north. It is a nation of resilient people – more than 38 million of them – who have overcome decades of challenging times and emerged as one of the fastest growing economies in the world.
Two years after the political breakthrough of 1989 that began the wave of socioeconomic transformations in all of Central-Eastern Europe, 3M put down roots in Poland. And since then, 3M has become one of the most recognizable brands in the country.
Poland has transformed into a strategic location for the corporation in the region. 3M’s manufacturing operation in Wroclaw – the second largest of its kind in Europe – is currently the fastest-developing 3M production center in the world, where the majority of the innovative products sold in Poland and to global markets originate.
Today, 3M employs 2.9 thousand people in Poland and offers more than 10,000 products spanning multiple industries, including general manufacturing, means of transportation, construction, metalworking, hospitals, dental and consumer markets. 3M continues to invest and innovate in this important region of the world with two medical production plants, a Research & Development Center, a 3M Innovation Center, a Global Service Center and the Production Center Superhub.
As 3M Poland commemorates its 25-year anniversary in 2016, it also celebrates a special recognition: This year, 3M Poland was recognized as one of the best workplaces in Poland as part of the prestigious “Great Place to Work” ranking.
