    Wrapping up a Production

A new theatrical production brings together notable moments and music from one director’s movies in a live show. Bringing the lush styling of movies known for opulent visuals to the live stage could have been a challenge. A solution? Bring some of the glamour to the stage itself.

Icon Image Graphics, based in Cerritos, California, helped design a custom stage for the production. The stage is constructed of 30 pieces in different shapes and sizes that fit together like a giant puzzle. The pieces are wrapped in 3M Scotchlite Reflective Graphic Film. Sino Tour, director of operations for Icon Image Graphics, says they usually focus on wrapping vehicles, but are getting more requests for specialized custom jobs – they even wrapped a piano in sky-blue film for the Grammy Awards.

“For some of our high-end specialty wraps, the designers are always looking to push the envelope, and they usually come up with some crazy, intricate ideas. This production is a prime example.”
